---------{{{ NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MIDI vol.1 }}}}------- Welcome to no.1 in an occasional compilation of kickin' MIDI files that will turn up when I can be bothered to post them. THEY ARE ALL GENERAL MIDI (drums on Ch.10, GMIDI prog.changes etc.) and all the track info such as program changes, level, fx, and pan commands are embedded in the tracks, so for those of you who do not YET have a GMIDI module/card then don't bother downloading. Don't even think about playing these on some crappy 8-bit soundcard either as I have incorporated a very clever virus into one of the files that will detect such a device and cause your hard drive to rotate at speeds that will cause your computer to be thrown from your desk due to the extreme centripetal forces involved (and if you believe that then you'll agree that John Major's doing a good job) So - Eight rather nice General MIDI sound files, being thus: Crazy - Seal (great drummy bit in the middle) Jump - Van Halen (great guitar solo towards the end) Sleeping Satellite - Tasmin Archer (great keyboard solo from the guy who used to be in It Bites - best Brit rock band ever..) Too Much Love - Brian May (too much hair Brian. Best Acoustic guitar solo at the end than you're likely to get anywhere) Too Funky - Georgy Michaels (great Synthy sound - well on a Sound Canvas) Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) - C&C Music Factory (token dance track; great distorted guitar) It's A Sin - Pet Shop Boys (Not that good but hey! they're English!) The Things I Saw - Karel Fialka (from the B-side to Hey Matthew. The token obscure track which means it's the one people'll send me mail about if previous experience is anything to go by) So there you have them... All sequenced\tweaked\re-arranged\converted etc. where appropriate on a 4Meg trust old Atari ST running Cubase V2.0 and a Roland SC55 Sound Canvas - the best GMIDI module in existence Enjoy! Abusive E-mail etc. to zchag05@ucl.ac.uk (valid until September '95) Go on - write.. you know you want to. Alternatively, just let those waves of apathy wash over you..... Cheers Alexi
